Some 3 years ago, I underwent surgery and when I came home from the hospital, I required therapy, both physical and occupational. That’s when I met Jules Boyd, who would be my occupational therapist for the 2 years to follow. Jules was terrific! We worked together and devised a specific exercise program to strengthen my upper body, using an elastic band, weights and other tools, and then addressed my balance as well. Jules made sure I stuck to it. She worked right along with me, observing closely and advising as we went along.
Jules was an exacting task-master but never pushed too hard. It wasn’t long before I realized how good my therapist was, and wanted to work hard to please Jules. I came to look forward to our sessions, not only for the work but for the lively conversations we had mostly about our love of animals. I would recommend Jules without question.

Jules is amazing. She’s been our parent’s private OT for the last last 8 years. Our mother, who has late stage Alzheimer’s, is now non-verbal and chair/bed bound, but her face lights up when Jules comes. Jules introduced music to us to use with mom, and it helped her arousal level and communication. Mom is engaged when Jules is working with her, laughing, and alert, and it’s honestly everyone’s favorite time to visit, so we can observe this. Jules’ massage and stretching has made a big difference in counteracting the muscle rigidity and contraction that Alzheimer’s causes. Jules intuitively feels how far mom’s range of motion can be stretched, without causing pain. It’s a huge quality of life factor. We can’t speak highly enough of Jules!

Jules worked with my elderly mother for over six years. During this time, I saw the compassion, knowledge and dedication Jules had for my mother’s care. Jules was patient when mom wasn’t feeling well and not up to doing her exercises and would incorporate humor and motivation skills to get her into doing them. My mom’s strength and mobility did improve a lot with Jules guidance. Not only is Jules a great therapist, but also became part of our family. Jules’ kindness, wonderful sense of humor and ability to know exactly what to do to help my mom was so much appreciated. If my mom was ever assigned a different therapist, my mom would make sure she was redirected back to Jules. Jules was with us up until my mom passed earlier this year. If you need the best OT care, Jules is your person!

Jules did an evaluation of my parent’s house after my father (who has Parkinson’s) had a fall. Jules quickly and efficiently assessed what needed to be removed (adios weird area rug that I always hated), what needed to be adjusted to keep him safe, and what needed to be purchased (hello grab bars). Jules was super knowledgeable and so easy to relate to. Jules was confident and soothed my mom’s fears so quickly. We were worried about my dad losing independence but Jules helped him hold onto his dignity and my mom to release so much anxiety. What a blessing during an incredibly stressful moment.

I have had the pleasure of working alongside Heather at a private client’s home. She consistently demonstrates professionalism, patience, and genuine care for our client’s well-being. Heather’s ability to create a supportive and encouraging environment while being attentive, friendly, and patient makes her a pleasure to work with!

Heather has been visiting my 95yr old mother, who is hard of hearing and who has mobility issues, twice a week for the last few years. During this time Heather has become part of our family. My mom looks forward to her visit and asks every morning “Is Heather coming today?”. She is warm, caring, funny, beyond understanding, and professional. The very first thing Heather does is ask how my mom is feeling, put on calming music, takes her vitals, and has even assisted us in communication with our MD about my mom’s BP medication. My mom’s mobility and strength has improved greatly with Heather’s assistance. We are so fortunate that heather is our therapist. From 1-10, Heather’s recommendation would be an 11!

We first met Heather many years ago when she was assigned to do OT work with my mother after a brief hospital stay. After the insurance covered visits were done, I initially asked if she could visit my mom once a week privately - which then turned to 2x a week - then 3x a week and then 5x a week - which is what we have going right now. Heather has been a blessing to our family. She’s very patient, friendly, cheerful and very caring. You can tell that she truly cares about her patients and their well being. My mother has her moments and can be stubborn, but only Heather can persuade her to go out for a walk or play a game. I cannot stop singing praises about Heather - she is an angel, someone heaven sent to make our lives (especially my mother) better. We love her very much.

Heather provides me with great care! I feel like a new person, after our visits! My legs and sciatica feel so much better after Heather works on them, and I call her the “pain management whisperer”. I am so appreciative for all the help Heather has provided over the course of the last year. I know I am able to continue living a fruitful, and a more pain-free life because of Heather’s wisdom and individualized care.
